Kansas IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence

Communications Core

The overall goal of the Communications Core is to offer a convenient and easily used system by which individuals and groups of researchers may speak together interactively or may view seminars and other educational experiences offered by different campuses. The initiative, designed to promote interactions among K-INBRE constituents at multiple levels, includes:

  • expanding use of the PolyCom teleconferencing to all sites establishing a truly integrated telecommunications network;
  • extending content provided by teleconferencing to include material of greater interest to K-INBRE investigators and students.┬áThis may include seminars, workshops, discussion groups, didactic instruction, etc.;
  • enhancing the current K-INBRE web presence by providing directories on new content and activities;
  • fostering communication through social networking with the objectives of informing members and creating cohesion.
